Our Dual Responsibility in Kids Ministry
We believe that it is God's intention for parents to be the primary disciplers of their children. That being said, His design is for parents to disciple their children with the support of- and within the context of a local body of believers. (See Deuteronomy 6:4–9 and Psalm 78:1–8 for examples of parents and the believers around them both having a role in passing on the faith to the next generation.)
Our first responsibility in kids ministry is to equip you—the parents and guardians!—to help you kids come to know, love, and serve God. This is an area where we are looking to grow but, right now, this comes in the form of providing resources and occasional training in family discipleship.
Our second responsibility is to make the most of the time we have with your kiddos to help them develop as biblically-grounded followers of Christ.
Sunday Morning
Nursery
We have two nursery rooms on Sunday mornings where our volunteers (who have all passed a background check) will care for you kids in a warm and loving environment while you worship without distraction. Younger kids (0–23 months) are in room 120 and older kids (2 & 3 year olds) are across the hall in room 126. When you arrive, you will check your kids in on the table by room 126 and then our great volunteers will keep them until you return to pick them up.
Kids Time
Kids Time is for 4-year-olds through 1st graders and happens during the sermon. Kids will be released from the service to go to room 117 (directly through the back double doors in the auditorium) where our volunteers will check them in upon arrival. Kids Time is designed to be an age-appropriate environment for these kids to connect and learn and grow.
Wednesday Nights
Wednesday Night Kids
Our Wednesday Night Kids groups are designed to be an age-appropriate environment for kids to learn the truth about who God is, what He has done, and what He calls us to. Our great team of volunteers seek to build meaningful relationships with the kids to help ground them in truth, to show them the love of God, and to give an example of what following Jesus looks like.
During our time together, the kids are split into age groups and they rotate through several stations. We have worship through song, a Bible lesson (using Lifeway's The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum), Bible literacy/Scripture memory time, games, crafts, and missions time.
Schedule
Our Wednesday Night Groups for all ages meet from 7:00–8:00pm during September–November and January–April. We have groups for nursery (0–3 years), kids (4 years–5th grade), middle school, high school, and adults.
When you arrive, you will check your kids in at the table outside room 117 (the big kids classroom). You will then return to the same place to check them out at 8:00pm.
